any hints or tips that could help, anyone any experience of flooding
I was in keynsham as a teenager when the town bridges were washed away

| | | Re: heavy rain forecast It seems bizarre that over here (just south of Manchester) where it rains almost daily, we've had great weather for the past couple of weeks, whilst some parts of the country have been flooded.
I guess one of the only things that you can do in this sort of circumstance is protect your most important possessions. Get a scanner and duplicate your most valued documents and photos, put them on CDs and store them somewhere else.
I know a few people who have been flooded out and none of them ever really expected it to happen to them. Years later, most of them still consider it to be the worst day of their life and will never forget going back in their homes to find tide marks half way up the walls and everything ruined.
However, some of them have told me that the positive side (if you can call it that) is that the floods brought their community closer. Apparently, it's easier to cope if you can spend the time, when you're flooded out, helping people in an even worse situation, like the elderly. |  | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
