| | | British Summer 2009 Has anyone else heard that we are supposed to be getting a good summer this year. The Metoffice says that a repeat of 2007 and 2008 is quite unlikely |

| | | Re: British Summer 2009 About a month ago, there was a bit on the BBC news saying it was going to be an "Average" summer, but more recently the BBC were saying it was going to be a "Good" summer.
Knowing how often they get it wrong, especially for up here, I think I'll just wait and see how it develops. |

| | | Re: British Summer 2009 The met office cannot predict from one day to the next what the weather is going to do, hence I go out prepared for anything that can be thrown at me.
They are, however, able to indicate the type of weather we are going to experience by looking at phenomena such as where the jet stream is located, last year it was situated over Britain for the entire summer which led to the poor weather we had. It needs to move north away from Britain in order to allow us better weather, similarly the el nino and la nino in the Pacific ocean determines our weather for the long term. Not sure which is which, one is cold and the other warm conditions.
Personally I just get up each day and see what is happening and plan the day around it. |
