| | | Earthquake in North West Half an hour ago I was working in the garage and thought the house was falling down around me. There a double "bump", the second being much greater than the first and the whole building shook. Two items shook off the work bench.
Several neighbours came out to see what had happened. Plane crash, waggon crashed into a building? Seems it was an earthquake or tremor without being dramatic, local radio swamped with callers from Lancaster to Ulverston.

| | | Re: Earthquake in North West I remember the one we had a few years ago. I was asleep in bed at the time and was suddenly woken by a very strong vibration. The whole bed shook The next thing I knew, my daughter burst through the door and hurled herself on top of me. She was convinced the house was falling down and that we were going to get crushed! Not an altogether pleasant few minutes!

| | | Re: Earthquake in North West As you can imagine, it's been the hot topic of conversation in the area. It'll go down in folklore as "Where were you when the earthquake struck?"
I really did think the garage was going to collapse on me and ducked! I don't know how that would've helped but for a couple of seconds it was quite scary. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
