Thanks for the thoughts, but we're ok here. At least we still have power, touch wood, unlike some areas. I always have extra food and a good supply of dried and tinned stuff at this time of year, as well as an alternative heating and cooking source.

Hubby got sent home from work early, they still can't get the buses out, so we cleared the car and dug out the drive to the cleared bit of road. It was up past my knees in places. The temperature is due to drop tonight, so we wanted to get it done before it freezes solid. Snow is definitely easier to move than ice.

Good to hear from you! Supplies will be getting in now (and whiskey getting out!!) as I've just seen that the A9 is open all the way from Perth to Inverness according to BBC travel website........ (with extreme care over Slochid Summit!) Yeah! We've spoken to Hamish in Nethy Bridge and he says the road is open via Boat of Garten to where we are staying ........ so it looks like the hol might be back on ..... shush I shouldn't have said that tho still closures in Carrbridge and Grantown, Aucheterader, Laggan, Tomintoul and other obvious places and recently the Applecross road has shut ....... The forecast is for a lovely full sunny day on Sunday, and sun and cloud for Mon Tues ....... fingers crossed that ice isn't the next problem ..........
