| | | Re: Whats your weather like today? Felt very cold here today, but bright sunshine all day, which did manage to melt a little of the snow it could get to.
My boiler started leaking on Tuesday. British Gas, to their credit, came out yesterday PM and walked up the hill to my house. Turns out the outlet from the condenser, which goes out the wall to empty into a drain, had an 18 inch icicle in it and was completely blocked. All back to normal now thankfully, but these temperatures have caused several ice and freezing problems to peoples water and heating, according to BG, so keep an eye on yours... |

We had a max of -3.8°C here today, the coldest max of the winter so far. Temp plummeted after sunset down to -9°C here but it's starting rise a little here, upto -8.5°C, I think there must be a little cloud moving in or a breeze picking up.

Ho hum ... | We last had our bins done on the 14th December - they come on Mondays and that was the last snow free Monday we've had. Postman last visited on 16th December - we're picking our own up on the rare occasions we, or one of our neighbours, can get a 4x4 out - the Post Office don't use landrovers for remote mail in our area as I believe they used to. Milkman still delivers once or twice a week on a huge tractor that copes admirably with the snow - he's also picked up groceries and given odd folk a lift down to civilisation when they've needed to go. Conditions like this do tend to bring out the best in some people and the milkman is certainly one of our "Snow Heros".
But it is quite beautiful here at the moment.

-10 here this morning but nowhere near as cold as yesterday! Likewise we have no post here and only 4x4's are making it down the lane as it's an ice rink! |

| | | Re: Whats your weather like today? Only -4.8 last night and up to -2.5 now. The snow is crunchy underfoot and nice and shiny on the roads. Must shop today so started the car just now to be sure, it took me longer to unfreeze the door with a hair dryer that to start the engine. So hair dryer is in the car on full and taped so as not to burn anything.
Clear skys and cresent moon and twinkling stars.
