Now they've gone I'm half tempted to get out my winter sleeping bag and a thick thermarest foam and try it out tonight! It's only been -4.5 C the last couple of nights but tonight looks like it will be colder with the clear sky from the start.

Oh absolutely GO FOR IT!

Yes I would do it but then I loved being in a tent and I love sleeping in the camper with the back tailgate open so that my head is almost in the open

You can always get up and walk home if its not comfortable - but from the times I;ve seen similar things on telly they've always been very warm once you're in and wrapped up - oh go on - do it Rob and come back and tell us all about tomorrow

Believe it or not it is realy warm inside I can vouch for that,whilst in the Forces we did Artic Warfare in Northern Norway just below the Artic Circle and had to build snow caves and live in them for two weeks on exercise and they were warm.
The weather up her today is sunny at the moment temps up a bit but had more snow over-night more forecasted again so no let up yet ,seems South-east kent is going to get hit bad next week towards the end near Friday

Ah you folks would that I could, we are snow less and now I think I wish to stay snow less but twould have been nice before the hols. Clear bright blue sky's and a light breeze temp 1.9c.

That sounds adventurous - well I know it was serious war training - but I bet you have one or two stories to tell from it don't you Bill? Go on start a thread!

Sorry Enogs - its frustrating I know - I wanted snow this xmas and we got it for once - but after clearing it physically off the drive and front and having to drive about, shop, look after and fetch and carry for mam I don't want anymore either ...... but I think the forecast is for more on Wed for us in the north west ...... oh NOooooooooo .....

Its a glorious bright blue day here btw but I think its cold!

Can tell quite a few good stories Pauline ,some you could`nt repeat on a forum thats viewed by such a wide age of younger members of the public
but others like the Norwegian Ski instructors saying that the Scots soliers were crazy skiers as instead of traversing down the hills we just pointed the ski downhill and hoped for the best and surprisingly no legs or limbs were broken.also its that cold that you used a fuel called Naptha for heating and cooking with as it had a low freezing point and people going to the medical officer with hands stuck to cooking pots and other metalic objects due to not wearing the special gloves worn .
Trying to get away from the Norwegian Army on skis thats a joke all they did was tap you on the back and you went head over heals and ended up in aa heap at the bottom of the hill,we had some good times though thanks fore bringing back some of these memories

Well, looked at the outside temperature at 7am this morning and it was -9
however the stars were very distant last night which means good weather today albeit cold! Where's my snow though BigBill?!? Bet you didn't make snow squirrels in the army

Now it's -2 in dear old Somerset but got down to -4 this morning. Tis clear cold and beautiful with the trees and grass pastures white with no more than frost. Just how I like it.
