Every season has its colours for sunrises and sunsets, Pippa.....I rather like the pastels, but the real golden glows in the summer are the best of the lot.
I looked at another of your pictures too...is that really someone in the water?! |

I can not understand how i am so wrapped up and they are almost naked and in the freezing cold sea. |

Thanks LynM and pippa it developed slowly and at first there was very little cloud. I left it 10 mins and it developed into this

this is tonights view, looking over towards Derbyshire, the first one we've had for a few nights due to heavy cloud in the west. 
it turned a lovely mellow gold 5 minutes later just as my batteries(the cameras!) went flat

Its really interesting to see sunsets from different places. I took a whole series over a local view and have enhanced the colours to get more of a range (but still nothing like that one, kiltoncomp). Then the sky turned golden, just before camera battery ran flat. This is a crop.  |

its strange how it turns from a welter of different colours to a view like that in minutes,its an amazing array of colours!
