| | | Weird light We are probably all suffering these snowy conditions, I know we are here in Coventry. Possibly not as bad as a lot of people around the country but I'm not sure you have what is happening here.
Since it got dark the reflection of the city lights have been bouncing of the very low cloud cover and creating an orange glow. The gardens are lit up with an orange hue and I can see everything in the garden right up to, and beyond the far fence. I can even see the hanging feeders moving around in the wind and they are in excess of 60 feet away.
It really is beautiful with the snow glistening in this light. It is almost as if it is daylight but in darkness if you get my meeting.
Is any one else experiencing this.

| | | Re: Weird light Not got it now but have experienced it before. To me, anything out of the ordinary is amazing. Take hail for example, to me it is a phenomenon because I haven't experienced it much! Anything that tampers with our appearance or balance (high speed wind) also intrigues me.
Anyway, I love it when the light goes odd like that, it's almost surreal. |

| | | Re: Weird light Up here in Scotland, hail, sleet, snow, sunshine and rain is a common occurrence, in fact we often get the lot every 15 minutes or so.

| | | Re: Weird light Well it's almost midnight and if anything the light is even brighter. Everything is bathed in a beautiful orange glow. The sky is quite orange and the garden looks incredible.
I did ask if anyone else was experiencing this but apparently not judging by the replies so far.

| | | Re: Weird light I do know what you mean though John. I expect you have cloud cover too? The orange lights of a city reflect in such a way to give this glow....I used to live in London and remember seeing it then

| | | Re: Weird light Hi Kayleigh
I don't have street lights where I live but the whole area is bathed in this light as a total reflection from the sky. It's weird as there are no shadows just complete orange light picking out everything.
I have experienced most things, and have seen similar sights before but nothing on this scale where it is so bright.
Right, I'm off to bed.
