| | | Sunrise or Sunset? Do you love to see the sun rise at the beginning of the day? - or do you prefer to watch it set as the day draws to a close? And what, if anything, makes it special for you?
I love to watch the sunset, especially from the beach
I took this shot with my old non-digi camera while on holiday on the Isle of Wight a few years ago

| | | Re: Sunrise or Sunset? Sunsets are beautiful, particularly at the coast on a clear evening. I'd love to see the sunrise but I'm yet to drag myself out of bed early enough to properly watch the sunrise

| | | Re: Sunrise or Sunset? Sunset I think, possibly because it lasts longer a lot of the time! Last night was a good case in point, shortly before it was due to set there was very little except cloud, but afterwards it went slightly golden and then a deep crimson red. Even half an hour after it set there was still a reddness in the NW sky.
This picture is from the previous evening, ie. Wednesday of this week. |

There's only one way to find out ....!
I can't decide, personally, but yes, as Lyn says sunsets are good because they last longer, however I've seen some fleetingly beautiful sunrises too (unfortunately not been able to capture on camera very well though, because of the rooves of the houses behind me obsuring the view a bit )
Absolutely *beautiful* photo, Sunnydale

| | | Re: Sunrise or Sunset? This sunrise a couple of weeks ago was really beautiful, but not very good photo of it - by the time I had cropped it to remove the rooves, it reduced the resolution so much its ended up all grainy, and still some bits of tree in the foreground (which wouldn't have been too bad if they were better looking trees!)

Sunsets are my favourte, especially on the coast. You can see some fantastic colours in the sky

| | | Re: Sunrise or Sunset? Thanks so much for the kind comments re my photo
Wasn't sure what it would come out like after being scanned - but I felt the pic was too nice to be hiding away in an envelope!
Lovely shots Lyn and cutecoot :-)

| | | Re: Sunrise or Sunset? Agree about not letting the pics hide away in an envellope! Yours are great Cutecoot. I have dozens of them, I get a bit carried away now I'm digital. I picked out one from each month over the last year to have made in to a calendar for Christmas presents, all I have to do is copy the originals to CD and take them to the photographic shop in town and a very nice guy does the rest! Christmas sorted! |
