| | | Re: Brocken Spectres Wow - awesome!
I'd be interested to know what they are (I'm assuming they are not supernatural ).

| | Re: Brocken Spectres Hello Seabeggar, andwelcome to WAB,
I don't suppose for one minute that many people have experienced a scene like that in their life,
For you to capture it on camera is absolutely fantastic,
But I can immagine that the pics come nowhere close to the visual impact,
of seeing that unfold before your eyes,
Was it a static thing? or did it move as you watched?
Well done on the pics and thank you for sharing with us,
Duncan |

| | | Re: Brocken Spectres The Spectre of the Brocken is cool. I've experienced it twice. Once on Saddleworth Moor in Yorkshire about 15 years ago and at Bempton Cliffs R.S.P.B reserve, about six weeks ago. Note the 'glory' around the shadow of the figure. It is formed when the sun casts a shadow of the viewer on to a wall of mist.
Regards, Chris

| | | Re: Brocken Spectres I have seen those 'spectres' myself. About four years ago me and some friends were on a night crossing of the Channel from Portsmouth to St Malo and it was a foggy night. The ship's lights cast our shadows onto the fog in the same way as the 'glories' seen in mountains. It was pretty spooky to say the least. |
