I've seen one, just once, on top of Catbells. It wasn't as bright as this one , though.
I've been trying to get my head round how the "glory" works. I can see how you get a circle of colours from internal reflections in the droplets, but why does it form around the shadow? I would have thought it would be directly opposite the sun.
In Seabeggar's photos, even though they are taken from one side, it is still centred on the shadow.
I don't get it

Jerry | The shadow you see most clearly is the shadow of the photographer - hence the circle of colours IS directly opposite the sun.
