| | | Indentification confirmation, please. This thread has aroused my interest in this 'sun' thing. I've been looking and think I've spotted one.

Britain is beautiful but looks so much more beautiful in the sun I do hope we get some more
Linda | Hi Linda, what an amzing find! A first for Britain in quite some time, although I do beleive there has also been a dubious claim in Nairn, so it may not be a first! Has anyone been able to confirm your claim? Sorry, I don't mean to be sceptical and I'm sure that the experts will be along to either confirm or debunk your alleged finding of this elusive rarity. :

| | | Re: I saw the sun today Ok folks no need to worry your expert is here, I can confirm that this is indeed the SUN.
Linda you'll need to keep this pic as evidence & may even have to give talks in schools to explain to the children what this is.
Years ago this was a common sight in England but over the years it has got rarer & rarer.
If your lucky enough to go abroad it is still a very common sight but due to our geographical position we rarely see it these days.
It is said that it appears quite regularly (you have more chance of seeing aliens) but most of us are working or doing something important so usually miss it.
One of the worst things you can do is plan a trip out filming/photographing wildlife this will almost certainly lessen your chances of seeing the SUN.
Well good luck folks in getting more of these rare sightings but please remember to get pics as proof & post them ASAP

| | | Re: I saw the sun today Lucky you lot. Another rarity I missed. I googled it and apparently the sun is: Quote: often Sun A star that is the basis of the solar system and that sustains life on Earth, being the source of heat and light. It has a mean distance from Earth of about 150 million kilometers (93 million miles) a diameter of approximately 1,390,000 kilometers (864,000 miles) and a mass about 330,000 times that of Earth.
A star that is the center of a planetary system.
The radiant energy, especially heat and visible light, emitted by the sun; sunshine.
A sunlike object, representation, or design.
| Does this explain that thing in the photograph any more? |
