Re: weathersticks

I don't have one, I prefer more scientific "instruments".

What wood is it made from?

this is a weather stick-it predicts what the weather will be like.
If it points up its going to be fine,if down its going to rain!Make of that what you will!
ellen

Usually, nothing to do with the weather though, mind you when there's a freeze

Re: weathersticks

Oh go on,

What tree have we got to cut down to get one .

No one will have any trees shortly when the BSI start charging £70 to check your garden trees every year and £300 every three years for a specialist.

I'm planning to cut mine down already, I'm much surprised that no-one has started a thread on the subject in "the tree house"

Max.

Well yet again my weather stick predicted a nice day for today.Pointing well up at moment....only thing it couldnt predict was this wind!!!

with an interpretation legend on a laminated card, very posh

Hello Galanthus Yes they are made of willow, the canadians founded them, I swear by mine, today its curled right up which means it cant find any dampness in the air, and true its been a beautiful sunny day apart from the wind sheila

Great,

Now I've got to look up a hooligan weather string, wen't to wikipedia for the weather stick, interesting read, invented/discovered by aborigines and can be made of various woods.
