| | | Re: good places to see otters in the north east... A great place for Otters up your neck of the woods is a reserve called Big Waters (grid ref' NZ 227 734). It isn't far from Newcastle. Head west through Brunswick village, off the B1318 in Wideopen, then turn right at the Big Waters pub.
Early morning is best. Bill Oddie did a feature on the telly about Otter watching here and it looks very good.
