Knowing my luck whilst over the west coast will probably go down some side road and get snowed in:eek that happened in that bad winter that we had in the 90s cant remember exact year but cables were down everywhere got stuch on A 702 all night as traffic had ground to a stand still and we were snowed in all night :eek

According to the 5-day forecast on the BBC weather site there'll be heavy snow here on Sunday.

Re: Snow at Easter?

Yes heavy snow forecast for Essex - 60% chance anyway.

It was hot in Essex last Easter which was a shame as me and my husband spent the weekend tiling the bathroom, getting hot and bothered - and bad tempered. Missed it all. All the neighbours had barbecues going too.

Never mind I love the snow so fingers crossed for Essex.

Re: Snow at Easter?

Well three's been very heavy sleet and rain here this morning and it's freezing!! It's going through a sunny spell now but somehow don't think it's going to last very long I could do with a walk in the country too after trudging round Brighton yesterday.

Re: Snow at Easter?

Sunday's forecast for my area has now changed from heavy snow to sleet.

It's been mainly bright and sunny this morning, but very windy.

Re: Snow at Easter?

My mother is fond of the tale of my sisters birth in 1979 on the 10th of April. She was knee high in snow but my dad made sure they made it to the hospital!!

We've had flurries of snow today. We are putting up a fence!

Re: Snow at Easter?

Bitterly cold here, very VERY strong winds, sleet on and off, then glorious sunshine. Looking forward to studying pawprints in the snow tomorrow, as it feels ready to snow now.

Re: Snow at Easter?

Hmmm, similar to badgerwatcher here, glorious sunshine, then suddenly grey followed by light snow which isn't sticking. Intermittent sleet too. Oh the joys of our eclectic seasonal weather

Re: Snow at Easter?

Had lots of snow showers today here in south east Hampshire. The unfortunate thing is the ground is far too wet for it to settle. The kids kept looking out the window in hope, don`t know if that`s it or we`ll get more in the morning.

Still snowing here in leafy Hertfordshire. A light covering everywhere, due to stop around midday I believe, birds still feeding...

Re: Snow at Easter?

We had snow too today, enough for the kids to go out and make some snowballs but not enough for a snowman. It has all gone now though.

Re: Snow at Easter?

Well the Met Office forecast for here in Cambridge was spot on and we had more than 2 inches of snow fall between 6 - 9am this morning and it's still on the ground. Our local Kingfishers didn't seem to mind it though and were fishing as usual -

Re: Snow at Easter?

there's been a mix of sleet and snow here - including some huge flakes - but it didn't settle. Very wet and cold out there.
