Well we've lost our fence so the other half is onto the insurance company (like many others no doubt!) What bothers me is that attached to the fence is my huge honeysuckle is attached to it and I can't tell if the bottom of the plant has snapped (fence is too heavy to move to check). Fingers crossed the honeysuckle survives! |

So when are you going to pay up? I'm looking forward to those plans you know

Here's the honeysuckle - it shouldn't be that low to the ground so I hope it isn't damaged: |

| | | Re: Big Storm brewing If I'm not mistaken that's your neighbours fence - the cross bits are on their side so let them sort it out. Honeysuckle should be alright, they are pretty resilient to being bashed about. |

the fence was there years before the neighbours house was built, therefore we take ownership of it (we're nice like that hehe)

| | | Re: Big Storm brewing Been wondering all morning at work how the southern half of WAB were doing? Rain and stong wind had me awake in the night here in S. Lancs - window open a tad as usual but rain coming thro onto bedroom telly - good job it was off - better let it dry before plugging in again!
Reasonable morning at work - blue sky over Wales and Wirral. A couple of squally showers but now this aft rain but not windy - forecast is for wind to reach north west with the next low on its way in from Cornwall tomorrow - so our turn tomorrow then?
Take care all - keep safe xxx

Julie | Ok - finally I have to ask - what's this thing about Bass?! I'm not a fish lover - well thats not strictly true - my favourite fast food is fish and chips and I love very fresh fat white fillets in a light crispy batter
So am I missing something really scrumptious with Bass and how would I cook it for the best and enjoy it bearing in mind I'm not keen on fishy fish thats been hanging around the shops for a few days

Pauline | It just so happens Pauline that Bass is my favorite fish..Cooked on a bed of sliced onions and partly boiled potatoes with garlic and herbs some olive oil and season lay on the Bass put sliced tomato on the top and a few spigs of rosemary and dill a few slices of fresh lemon.you could add a dash of white wine...cook for roughly 45mins dish up with cous cous and a watercress or rocket salad..you can also add a little sliced chilli in with the fish if you like...Yummy...I like to have a little Bass every couple of weeks...

| | | Re: Big Storm brewing To be honest Pauline I aint really got a clue, I think it all started when Hugh what's his face had his new river cottage fishing series out and we discovered that Julie is quite partial to a bit of bass now and again as am I, now it's snowballed into talk of full bass suits to keep us warm whilst going to visit big bill!!!
Julie is the one for recipes for bass, I would just wrap it in foil with some lemon and bake it whole in the oven, Julie does some very fancy things with it. |

| | | Re: Big Storm brewing Well here we are just a stones throw from the beach. On my way home tonight I saw the biggest sea I have witnessed, foam has been whipped up and was flying around my garden.
But luckily where I am tucked away in my quarry there is the roar of the sea and wind in the trees but it is relatively sheltered.
Out there though it is a different story, will have to go down tomorrow and see what has been washed up. | |
