Dry,mainly sunny but very windy!
Think we have got of lightly-apparently further north and into Wales its meant to be high winds and heavy rain

Extremely wild in west Lancs! Just rescued washing and put it back on the line again..... not raining yet (won't mind if it does - have to cover the golf shop again this aft)..... his nibs and I have smiled and said to each other 'is this a taster for the hols?' as this is definitely western isles weather  Anyone on the ferries today won't be feeling so good unless they are good sailors..........

Its been a glorious day.
Sun has been quite warm,just got blown around a bit!!! Been very windy but at least it has blown the clouds away.Apart from wispy bits, skies have been pretty clear this afternoon

Gales and blustery showers here in the South Pennines. I went to a sheepdogs trials today on the Holmfirth side of Saddleworth Moor and the poor sheep and border collies were getting a right old blasting by the elements.

I hope its calming down a bit as half an hour ago it was so wild it was getting scary and the conservatory roof was straining at the leash! Perhaps thats the worst of it over

well we have a couple of cherry trees along the street that have had branches pulled off them by yesterdays blow. Today has seen good periods of sun, a few patches of blue sky, a few black clouds, but the rain has held off. We just got back into harbour on Saturday evening from the Farnes when the weather turned real bad, so we were quite lucky.
Don't you just love England's predictable summer weather. |

Incredibly windy yesterday - more so than a month or whatever ago. Went up to Deep Dale and could hardly stand up to the breeze (  ) but, more to the point, got cold limbs (forgot to take gloves and other thermal wear - well, it is nearly July. ) due to wind chill - I can't remember that before.... but some beautiful cloudscapes! |

Hi all,
weather in Fort William was superb this afternoon with blue sky, fluffy clouds and the top of Ben Nevis clear. The view down Glen Nevis to the Mamore range was stunning, pity I was working! Drive home by Loch Leven was also stunning with the clouds casting big shadows on Bidean nam Bien in Glencoe. Cool glass of lager on the patio before checking the pond to see if any more dragonflies have emerged today.

Hi People,
Got to tell you this:- mentioned the weather stick to a friend yesterday, and he said "they've got a weather stone in Australia".
Yeah right, anyway, it turns out that a fishing tackle shop owner got soo fed up with people asking him what the weather was going to be like, he drilled a stone and hung it up on a piece of string outside his shop with a notice.
If the stone is wet it's raining.
If the stone is dry it's sunny.
If the stone is moving it's windy.
Apparently he has videos of people checking it. .
