| | | Chances of a white christmas ??
It would be lovely to have a white christmas and everywhere look really seasonal Alas !! I think i am in for wet dreary weather according to the met office..Maybe some of you other members will be fortunate enough to get a cold crisp christmas with a chance of some white stuff falling.
I cant remember last time we had a white christmas its been many years ago..

Normally up here its quite good have been up here 8 years now and only last year was there no snow on the ground at christmas but it looks promising again for this year especially with the sharp frost we have been getting -12 last night and they reckon there will be no change tonight reading -3 at the moment 1330hrs(130pm) any that falls now within the next few days will be snow

I mean I think its cold in the south west right now, the wind is bitter but it must feel a heck of a lot colder where you are. According to the Met Office its around 5 degrees here. I wouldn't make a very good Eskimo me thinks! |

Don't look like we are going to have a white Christmas here in Berkshire. 
I'd settle for a really hard frost though.........

I would settle for a hard frost as well instead of wet and dreary.Sure some of the members will be lucky enough to get a white xmas,.

I've never had a real white Christmas. The nearest I've had was snow on Boxing day, back in the long hard winter of 1963. It's NEVER snowed, or had snow on the ground on Christmas day.

Hi first chance of getting back online since I was hit by a rogue programm that came in a fault in internet explorer it was a virus in the form of Widows update and IE update if deleted they just duplicated themselves took until 10am today toget rid off so had withdrawel syptons.
As to weather temps up here have been really severe -12 at night and -4 during the day have not been able to windscreen washer for 5 days completely frozen, forecasters dont have a clue said we where going to be about 4`C today yes -4 just been opn snow for christmas up this end is the forecast at least we will get rid of any bugs about

I'd love a white christmas and it's been cold enough for snow the last few days but I think it will rain . Think I'll take the kids to Lapland next year for some real deep, lovely soft snow. It can only drop to -30 in the daytime, no problem .

Julie | It would be the first for a very long time in Central Scotland. I honestly can't remember the last one and I'm not a spring chicken. I think the chances of a white Xmas in future are slim due to global warming. |

I woke up to a light covering of snow yesterday in north Surrey . Strangely though there was none beyond half a mile to the west, nor a mile to the east . It didn't last long though.

I've watched the weather forecast tonight (sun) and I think we can forget snow in the north west of england - in fact - its going to *&^%$+* rain  How many weeks now have I been at work - strolling around with a litter picker in gorgeous blue weather - wishing I was elsewhere......... I've laid plans to nip to Southport on Christmas morning for the high tide (with one small mother trailing in my wake) and its going to be raining they say ....... NOoooooo

Not looking at all promising here in Swindon, Wiltshire either. The temperatures have been about right, between
-4C and 0C but there's probably not enough humidity in the air or something. Was trying to snow last night (little specks of snow falling sparsely) but melted when hit the ground, leaving only a very thin covering on the roof. Same is happening tonight. Oh well, let's hope the New Year brings some of the lovely white stuff!

The west midlands has no chance of a white xmas its windy and damp today and looks set to continue ..We did have a good frost on sunday and it looked really wintery but today its changed back to autumn looking weather again.
So thats it for another year no snow .!!
I can remember a couple of white xmas in my life cant remember the years though..But it just adds something magical .

No chance of any snow down south - Im in Chelmsford and it looks like +6 at least.
I think the far north of Scotland may be cold enough overnight but there might not be any precipitation - need to be at a higher altitude to see any I think |

just looked a the MET office winter forecast and it's now saying above average temps and rainfall for the rest of the season There's some good slopes for sledging round here too!
