| | | UK weather is weird!
It's cold, there's been snow in the UK today, we've had a lot of heavy rain, yet at the moment where I am it's lightning!! 
I was just outside "enjoying the fresh air"  and I saw the sky light up. I thought it was a silent firework (there was no sound) but I've just checked one of my fave websites (Live storm data from Newport, Isle of Wight from a Boltek StormTracker lightning detector) and it's lightning!
How odd

Raining here in east Essex, but not particularly cold..... Never heard of lightning in mid November.

Looking at some of the cloud formations today I can quite see why some of us had thunderstorms. The sky looked really "angry" at times. Then tempered by some brilliant rainbows.

It's wiiiiiiierd indeed from what you say Purplepixi. I bet anyone it will get wiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeerder still. & yes you all know why. I would love to have the lot in one go Snow, Lightning and Upside Down Rainbows lol wouldn't that be something  ? A bit off track has anyone seen a Moonbow and what are they like? |

You dont have to tell me that you can get al;l the seasons within a space of less than a day,the only weather forecast you can go by is the local forecast for your own area national forecast forget it you have more chance of winning the lottery than them getting it right

Bit blustery here in Surrey this afternoon. I like the wind  Especially when it forms those teeny tornadoes with leaves! Reminds me of the school playground!

Surrey seems to have a dull tinge today too. A little drizzly, but it's quite mild surprisingly. |

Very damp and cold in the west midlands ..we had a sprinkle of snow last week and many hard frosts..Think we are in for a cold winter.

Hi all,
I'm new to the WAB forums and was gobsmacked to find a forum featuring the UK weather.
Giving it further thought ... why the heck not, it starts off thousands of conversations in queues all over the UK and gives everybody something to moan about.
I am on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border and at 2.30 this afternoon we had to put our lights on and by 4pm it was chucking it down. |

I too enjoy cold, crisp winters, it's the wet dreary days that get me down and it's been like that for the past week up here in Scotland  |

Thats why you often hear it said that GB doesnt have a climate it just has weather....

Good old English weather! I spent many years living and working in different parts of Africa and when my family and I returned to England I said I was really looking forward to the unpredictable weather and the changing seasons. We've been back for ten years now I haven't been disappointed! I just love the variation in the seasons and how the weather can be different from one day to the next. Even when it's grey and dreary it simply makes the sunny days all the more welcome. Mind you I also love it when it rains, especially as I grow a lot of vegetables. And as for the big skies we get in Suffolk they are always fascinating. It's easy to see how John Constable was impressed by them! |

Yeah, I do love my HP5 and XP2 Great for moody days such as this. Black and white with Digital is good in my opinion. I have to say though, depends how you do it. If you do it on the camera, I find it's generally more successful than chucking it into the computer as a colour file and then editing it. Depends how you work really. All about experimentation!

Its been dark wet and windy here all day in the west midlands and it was certainly blowing some gales in the night..Think i would prefer crisp frost too this..
