Re: first snow

Some very, very fine snow fell here about 30 minutes ago - so fine you could only see it falling if you looked hard at a dark background. There's still just a fine dusting left on the rooftops and the parked cars.

Re: first snow

It has started to snow here in Edenbridge Kent, just a light flurry at the moment.

It's turned to freezing rain now - stopping for the odd wet snow flurry every half hour or so

Isn't there a saying about winter thunder??

It's healthier when it snows as there's more negative ions in the air (same around waterfalls).

Re: first snow

Am gutted - had arranged to have the day off or at least leave early if it snowed so I could go out with my camera. Would you believe it - no snow here is West Essex. Just grey and dreary with drizzle.

Very envious of all of you chaps who have snow outside.

Re: first snow

We were supposed to get snow today, that was one of the reason I hung around all day in my shed, hoping it would arrive.
Nothing at all. Weather Forecasters yet again wrong. They should scrap their wonder computers and try looking out of the window, they'd be far more accurate.

Re: first snow

it's here in ballachulish ,quite a bit lying at sea level , but it isn't supposed to last . it's more stable a few hundred feet up on the hills around me ,so glen coe will be "intresting" ,especially if the forcasts correct and it will freeze tommorrow. checked the temperature about 3-00pm and it was on 0 degrees

See you got a nice warm shirt for Chritmas. Plymouth is it?
I suspect that you're more used to snow than we southerners ....

Unhappy Re: first snow

Was so cold here in Swindon, Wiltshire on Thursday I thought it might snow, but sadly not a single flake. And now we've just got rain, rain and more rain. Still, I live in hope of seeing some snow - winter's not over yet!

Me too .... Essex and snow in the same sentence just doesn't work anymore .... unfortunately. I can not remember the last time we had any.

We had one day of snow - about 2 inches deep last January. Where I work there are 34 staff - 6 of us "managed" to get in. Pathetic! Do you remember when we had a few inches 2 - 3 years ago and people were stranded on the M11 for 12 hours! Makes me cringe to think about it.

I love snow and am thinking of flying to Scotland for a short break just so I can see some this winter.

Re: first snow

I can remember last february when we had snow and the Airports were closed for the day.....Some of my family couldnt fly off to Europe because of it ...there was a back log of flights over the next couple of days...So dont give up on no snow arriving just yet ...
