Hi Julie made it through the night no hypothermia just yet but is really baltic was going to something else then realised were I was just checked outside thermometer its reading 1`c at the moment the birds are coming in their droves to feed have filled up the feeders twice today already.
Its the coldest I have known it for 6 years of being up here in the Highlands this early everyone saying we are in for a long hard winter up here.
So like Stewy says start the knitting my hands are extra large so get the knitting needles out

Hi Stewy its not just a wooly hat I think I need my body encased in hot water bottles only trouble is the water would freeze to fast the saying and brass monkeys spring to mind

Quite a frost this morning. My Robin was up early, heard it singing at around 6 and was having a splash in the bird bath (hadnt frozen) at around 6:30 whilst it was still dark. Certainly an early riser.

first major frost in wales was -6 where i was.. what a temp... but the metoffice are saying its goin to be a mild winter first we had a bad weekend of floods and now this what can be next... will the metoffice ever get it right???? we will see |

Not sure what the temp was here today but the grass hasn't even defrosted yet and now it's dark again and it's still 'monkeys'!!!  Brrrrrrrr......

Like the photo! we had a light frost here - unusual this area dosn't normally get one until February but we had one in November this year as well. It was strange there was frost on the shed roof but not onthe grass or shrubs but a couple of gardens down the grass was white?!
