| | | Daniel Corbett Appreciation Society As far as I am concerned, Dan Corbett is the best weather forecaster of all time. Obviously loves weather and works the maps like a maestro. Helen Willets and Rob McElwie (spelling?) I quite like too.
Does anyone else have any particular favourite forecasters (current or past)?

| | | Re: Daniel Corbett Appreciation Society Good ol' D.C was in fine form after the six o' clock news this evening. Likening the rain to an inflating balloon. He even threw in a nice little sound effect. Marvellous.

| | | Re: Daniel Corbett Appreciation Society David Braine on the Beeb's Spotlight programme ticks most of the boxes. Accurate, well presented information with a mix of humour and seriousness. When lovely, cuddly Craig Rich retired, I wondered how he could be replaced, but David has slipped in to the role with consummate ease.
I am a fan! |

I like Rob too. I'd say he's my second favourite.
D.C has now become a kind of lifestyle guru for me. If he says it's a good day for a picnic, then I go out for a picnic. If he says I need to take my mittens out with me, then I take my mittens out with me, etc.
Life has become far less complicated since I started following Dan's advice.

Hope he's not lost in transition to another channel

There is a weather presenter who at present is thoroughly getting on my wick - I'm not going to name names cos thats not fair - but this persons way of speaking, how they describe the weather (one of the 'spits and spots' brigade) just gets on my pip I've got to the stage where its so annoying I cannot assimilate the weather at all - so I walk off now without the information! To be fair its a personality thing - plenty of people would probably find my strong accent and friendliness irritating - but thats what I'm trying to say - a presenter shouldn't be bigger than the thing they present......... and they should be presentable, well dressed and groomed and pleasantly spoken....... little affectations like Caroles shortwinded, breathy voice (too many cigs Carole!) and sparkly gloves and scarves, and Sians waving left-hand with fingers straight and thumb stuck out at an angle on the end of that supple wrist, Carole Gosneys playing back and too with the remote ........... (sad innit that I notice) these are all things that are almost endearing ..........
....... and err how have I gone off topic?? Well its Diane Oxbury for me

Pauline | Diane leaves me sooo cold. She's too full of herself for me and I don't like the way she speaks to lovely Gordon (isn't he such a nice man?). I have a lot of time for Eno because of her off the wall frocks. And Heather is rather nice too.
DC UPDATE: Someone told me today that he was on the six o' clock news one evening this week.....phew! I hope he was talking about a two legged spinning octopus, mittens, blue plasticine and other stuff of that ilk. http://kirsty.typepad.com/ttwfn/ Get a load of this I've just found! I'm so happy!
Regards, Chris
