We had almost an hour's worth here, some serious lightning and flooded roads. within ten minutes of it passing over though it's really brightened up.

Should have kept the big one shut! No sooner had I posted than everything went black, the wind went crazy and we had an incredible storm. It only lasted for about fifteen minutes but it was incredibly intense!

Checked out the website last night it was lighting up like a Christmas tree in the South East. Just looked a minute ago and it gone all dark. Thanks for the link surrey snow

We had a bad storm on the Norfolk Coast earlier, stupidly loud. It lasted about nearly 2 hours as well

I was hoping for a storm this afternoon (03/07) but unfortunatly only a bit of rain. The storms always seem to pass around us here (east herts) which got me thinking why are some areas of the country more susceptible to storms then other parts? London, the midlands and essex for example always get them. I can always hear the thunder but we never get any. Is it the lie of the land?

The last storm we had was a good 3 weeks ago and I was at work at the time

I was standing under a tree 30mins ago when I saw lightning and heard very loud thunder less than a second after. Needless to say I ran for cover under a building - and had to change my underware!
