| | | Re: Its Raining!! Oh Boy did it rain. It poured here.. so heavily you couldnt see beyond 50m or so. This went on for nearly an hour. Curtesy of my larger dog I had a flood in my conservatory up to the back door. She had broken a pane of glass (non saftey - old greenhouse glass)in there the day before.. and the downpipe from the roof was feeding the full flow on to the concrete floor. I admit to being mildly jealous of my sister in Spain who has just got a swimming pool... but that is stretching it a bit.. dont you think?

| | | Re: Its Raining!! Same here, the heavy rain started last night at about 11.30pm, it was almost frightening even indoors! Then the thunder and lightning followed at around 1.00am. I hate it and only got about 3 hours sleep last night.
This morning the roads are awash, sand, gravel and other debris everywhere, and our local Asda is closed due to floods and part of its ceiling collapsing. I know we need some rain but not 2 months worth in 12 hours! |

| | Re: Its Raining!! been raining all night and most of the day in Driffield, East Yorkshire. Pleased to see the rain after along dry spell. But not so much a once , my pond has overflowed and a lot of the tadpoles are swimming about on the concrete slabs. I fear that when it starts to dry up they will be left behind. |

Tonight we have even had thunder and lightening
Fortunately we are not in an area that floods although the pond is looking a bit high |

| | | Re: Its Raining!! I guess we've been really lucky after looking at some of the pictures of flooding on the news. We've had about 5mm of rain (according to my amateur weather thingy in the garden) in the last 5 days and all of that has fallen at night.
We live about 20 metres above the Thames, which is half a mile away, according to height about sea level so if we ever got flooded most of Reading would be under water!

| | | Re: Its Raining!! Torrential here for 2 days, we had 9 buckets strategically placed over back lounge due to mid-building work, builder on roof last night trying to temporarily patch holes. inch of water all over floor Most of Lavatera decimated, as is water forget me not and a shrub rose. Pond fortunately has scope for heavy rainfall so taddies/froglets still safely ensconsed in there..so far

| | | Re: Its Raining!! Well its sunday and so far so good no rain ..I went out yesterday between the showers and cut back all the poppys lieing on the ground and all the ox eye daisys also lieing on the ground which i found a bit heart breaking..I have other plants damaged as well the frogs seem to be enjoying the wet spell.. we needed rain but perhaps not quite as much.. At one stage yesterday when it was raining really heavy i had the news on and the weather forcaster said .."its not rain just showers " well i found that quite amusing as it was raining so heavy i could hardly see out the window..I guess the wet spell is natures way of replenishing the earth ..
