Four Seasons

This spring I completed a series of of images of a beech avenue in Minley Wood, Fleet, Hampshire taken at different times of the year. The one bonus picture was the winterscape taken after the only significant fall of snow in the area for ten years.

Summer Rain

Autumn Sunshine

Winter Snow

Spring Greens

Re: Four Seasons

Magical!

Beech are probably my favourite trees. (Little chance here on heavy clay)

Re: Four Seasons

What a fantastic set of photos.

I guess the winter snow scene was really lucky. Not something we see much of these days!

A fantastic set of images.
I think this is something that a fair few photographers always say they will try, but then don't, I know I am definately one

Re: Four Seasons

Thank you for the comments folks. It's on a route I regularly walk with my dog and my camera is usually along for the ride too, so it was accomplished within 8 months.

Captures the seasons beautifully. Are these woods anywhere near Fleet Ponds? Just asking as I go to the pond fairly regularly, in fact I was there during the snow a couple of months ago.

The location of the photos is north of the M3 about a mile, as the crow flies, from the north shore of the ponds. There are two bridges across the motorway giving access between the two sites.

Re: Four Seasons

Thanks for that David, I`ll need to have a wander up there next time I go to Fleet. The ponds are one of my favourite places to go when I have a day off and get up early, always plenty to see around there.

Re: Four Seasons

I love seeing this sort of thing .... a view or scene throughout the year.

Mind you, I suppose you need some patience to see the finished result .

An excellent set of photos Cybershot. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Thanks Richard. It was the waiting and hoping for the snow; an early morning opportunity which lasted for less than one day in early Feb. But I was determined not to miss it, apart from the wild life me and my dog were the first into the woods that morning !

Re: Four Seasons

I spotted these photos in the gallery when I was uploading some of my own "snaps" for use elsewhere and I wondered where they would appear. Like many others, it is an idea that I thought of trying myself but I never got around to it.

Your pictures capture the atmosphere superbly well and I applaud you for their quality and the effort that has gone into obtaining them.

Excellent stuff David.

You were obviously very lucky then with the "winter" one .... I am not surprised you were up early before anyone else .... and not a doggy pawprint in sight either .

By the way, apart from the excellent photos, I do like the way that you have "framed" these too.

Very well done on the whole project.

Richard

Thanks for your kind comments ladies, and apart from them being framed on my study wall I hadn't planned anything Sarah.

Re: Four Seasons

I am pleased you printed them. So many fantastic images are left on people's computers when they need to be proudly displayed on the wall. If you have taken the time to go out and take great pictures I think you should be showing them to people.

Sarah
