| | | Re: Earthflight Great visuals, but I got the impression that a quite a few of the snow goose parts seemed to be about showing the imprinted flock flying in interesting scenery, rather than real migratory behaviour.
Narration was a bit too anthropomorphic for my taste too.
The pelicans feeding were brilliantly filmed. |

| | | Re: Earthflight Did you also catch this on the BBC website? BBC News - Geese fly with man who reared them
Still there if the link doesn't work. BBC website then go to TV and then search for Earthflight and it's the last one on the page. Geese fly with man who reared them.
Apologies if already posted elsewhere. |

| | | Re: Earthflight That was absolutely stunning tonight, really interesting to see "our" Swallows migration.
The Flamingoes were incredible, as were the Vultures and Fish Eagles. The whole thing was excellent, not just the birds.
Regards, Audrey. |

| | | Re: Earthflight On one of the Beebs pages it says "To create its bird’s-eye view of the world Earthflight uses a host of extraordinary filming techniques including filming “imprinted” flocks from microlites, wild flocks filmed from model gliders and silent drones, full-sized helicopter with stabilised mounts and cameras on the backs of trained birds."
It was a bit 'red in beak and claw' in places, but I was fascinated to see how the birds and beasts interacted - picking up clues as to where food was to be found. Also the way they detected thermals.
