Just watched the second episode of Natural World (gave up with the first one about the Turkey guy!!)
Really interesting documentary about the Honey Ants in the USA BBC iPlayer - Natural World: 2011-2012: Empire of the Desert Ants

Did anyone see the lost gardens of heligan, the wildlife is amazing there was blue heron trying to eat a frog that puffed itself up so big it could not be eaten the barn owls were stunning also foxes playing on the lawns.
Well worth seeing on iplayer..

Haven't watched the latest one yet, but I didn't particularly like the first two programs. The combination of outdoor shots and studio underground shots to make up a scripted drama, in the ants program, and the dramatic reconstruction in the turkey man program, were a bit too fake for me. But they were interesting, and with great visuals. Did wonder a bit about how genuine the sound was in the ants program too. | | |
