I know JK is something of an acquired taste for some, but always good value for me, the wren roost footage was superb |

| | | Re: Johnny Kingdom's Year with the Birds I enjoyed it. I like JK, he's an exceptional charcter with a real passion. He's an amateur with great experience in the field, and it makes his presenting style and programmes easy to relate to. |

| | | Re: Johnny Kingdom's Year with the Birds I watched it and have to admit I quite like his quirky style. Some great footage there too which is what it's all about.
He's so lucky to have bought a load of land at the edge of Exmoor to mess around on. If I had the money I'd be doing something very similar!

| | | Re: Johnny Kingdom's Year with the Birds I watched this the other night and thought it was great, what a great character JK is, had me smiling at the tele a great deal and even guffawing now and then, along with my 16 year old step-son It's nice just to have someone different to listen to instead of the usual cut and polished presenters.
Well done Johnny Kingdom (even the name is great), looking forward to next weeks episode now.

| | | Re: Johnny Kingdom's Year with the Birds It makes you realise you can do the things like put a camera in a box and see things like those wrens cramming into that little box, I only knew they did this recently. |

The average over the winter was 42, and it took 25 to 30 minutes between the first and last birds entering the box.
When film of the scene was shown on the BBC it was stated that the previous record was 46. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
