you can press your red button on tues & weds & then there is one unsprung on friday... think thats right, check out on bbc.co.uk/springwatch |

A good start so far. Will be nice to see the Avocet chicks when and if they hatch.
...and I missed the Red backed shrike too because I couldn't get off work. Know how chris feels

Great first night. Good to see Simon in Wareham Forest. We were up that way last year. I missed Unsprung too - that was always my favourite bit! I'll have to remember to look for it later in the week. |

Watching the webcams is seriously addictive - I sit mesmerised by the river cam - and last night there were just a few moths and bats - I kept saying to myself just another 5 minutes - and then there was a glooping sound, some bubbles - and an otter! Made my day |

Speaking of Red Backed Shrikes, I was in France last week and they were just about the only birds that would pose for me.
