| | | New Channel 4 animals show We tend to get regularly contacted by TV researchers and the like, enquiring if we'd like to participate in some project or other, often of dubious value from an animal welfare point of view.
This latest one I shall reserve judgement upon, but I thought it might be of interest to the general WAB membership and audience: Hi there, I believe you may have already heard off a colleague of mine, if not this may seem slightly out of the blue. My name is Tom and I'm a researcher for Maverick TV who are currently developing an animals programme for Channel 4. At the moment we are looking for animals with behavioural or medical conditions, or strange and unusual tendencies. These animals would feature on our show and be examined by our team of expert vets, our aim being to educate the public that these cases, albeit unusual, do exist and need to be recognised by animals owners in the general public. Do you have any animals with strange behaviour or an unusual condition? To give you a further idea of what we are looking for I have pasted our press release below. Like I said, this is slightly out of the blue, but if you hear or know of anything that could be of help to us, then please do give us a call on 0121 224 8314, or email animals@mavericktv.co.uk Many thanks, Tom Researcher
*** PRESS RELEASE ***
DO YOU HAVE AN EMBARRASSING ANIMAL?
BRAND NEW CHANNEL 4 TV PROGRAMME IS HERE TO HELP!
Do you own or know of an animal with an embarrassing behaviour problem or persistent medical condition?
Perhaps you’ve got an oversexed dog that gets a little too familiar when your friends come to call? Maybe your moggy has an unfortunate case of the piles? Do you have a potty-mouthed parrot or an aggressive brood of hens?
Or maybe you’re dealing with the utterly bizarre - a horse with narcolepsy? A goat with no fur? A sleep-walking pig? Or rabbit that thinks it’s a dog?
Channel 4 is looking for all these and more for a brand new television series. If you’d like to receive free consultations and advice and possibly treatment from some leading animal experts then get in touch.
Please email us with a detailed description of your pet, their name and problem, plus a phone number to contact you on to animals@mavericktv.co.uk or call 0121 224 8314 |

| | | Re: New Channel 4 animals show I can only imagine that on Channel 4 the term 'Researcher' is applied somewhat loosely. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
