Martin | No. I thought it was rubbish as well. A great shame as I was really looking forward to it.

I still enjoyed the programme and I don't think that everything about nature has to be educational, serious and carry a "message"; sometimes things can just be fun. |
which is a pretty good message in itself.
I am just frustrated that I don't have sky so can't watch it grrrrrr |

| | | Re: Bill Bailey's Bird Watching Bonanza I like Bill Bailey and wouldn't have minded seeing this but, like Gill, I don't have Sky.
It still amuses me that every few weeks I get marketing mail from Virgin addressed to "Dear Sky Customer..." - they cannot grasp the concept that some of us don't have satellite or cable TV and don't really want it either. I can honestly say that this is the first programme I have ever heard of which I wouldn't mind watching but is on a channel that I don't have.

| | | Re: Bill Bailey's Bird Watching Bonanza I saw Bill on the 'One Show' and all though I commented at the beginning of thread that perhaps they meant Bil Oddie, I too would like to watch, no sky either.
The clips shown did look funny but I think this helps to take out the 'fustiness' and can show young and old that nature is fun and encourage an interest.
Some may say it would put some off, but personally I think probably Bill is just as passionate about nature as the next man/woman and shows it in his own fun way

| | | Re: Bill Bailey's Bird Watching Bonanza I agree with Susie, it was a great laugh and I especially enjoyed the bit where they wrote poems!!
My son, aged 12, also watched the whole thing - and he is usually so disinterested in "wildlife" programmes. Since watching, he has even agreed to go bird watching with me RESULT!
My only slight quibble with the series was that some of the "celebs" (who the heck were they?) were really annoying. Having said that, I love Alex Zane (good eye-candy) and Bill Bailey is ace (I follow both on twitter and they are very funny).
I hope that there will be another series, but this time with some REAL celebs - or even just WAB members (ME, ME, ME). | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
