David Attenborough investigates the consequences of population growth - from 2.5 billion in 1950 to 7 billion people today- both on humans and the environment. While most of this increase has come from developing countries, studies suggest western lifestyles take an unfair share of the planet's resources, as the naturalist argues that a change in the way we live and even smaller families might be needed if mankind is to survive on Earth
