Sitting eating dinner tonight inisde out was on the telly and my ears pricked up as they started a feature with an expert forager. I was horrified as he saw a mushroom (something pinkgill I think) which hesaid that he hadn't seen an example of for 15 years and proceeded to uproot it including part of the mycelium. He then broke off the stem and discarded it.

As well as this wanton destruction very little mention was made of the possible toxicity of picking the wrong mushrooms.

I will be complaining to the BBC.
