| | | Ring of Bright Water - Terry Nutkins R4 hi,
not sure if anyone caught the first episode of this on Radio4, but the second (and last) is up with only 3 days left. It summarises the 1st episode well, so its worth a listen.
I absolutely loved it. I'm not usually one for the sentimental, which I half expected this to be from its initial intro, but I found the bitter sweet memories and harsh reality of the time Terry had there kind of moving. What a great guy, gentle giant and much underrated natural historian. The portratit of Gavin Maxwell was excellent, very vivid and insightful. One of the best things I've heard on R4 for some time.
I hope this radio program goes some way to rekindling his career, if thats something he'd want.
cheers |
