| | | Re: Last chance to see I enjoyed the program too. The fact that they didn't really see a Manattee in the wild was possibly a good thing - it demonstrated just how close to extinction they are.
The pink dolphins were amazing, too. |

| | | Re: Last chance to see Absolutely great programme, I enjoyed every minute of it (although watching poor old Stephen Fry in agony just after he'd broken his arm in three places was pretty upsetting). Can't wait till the next installment.
Mark and Stephen complement each other well as presenters: Mark providing the ecological expertise and background information, and Stephen giving the more emotive and philosophical take on conservation and humanity's relationship with the natural world.
I only wish the series was going to be longer - six episodes is not nearly enough. I would say that it's bizarre that the BBC has chosen to show it on BBC2 instead of BBC1, but actually most of their best programmes seem to end up on BBC2 these days.
I think I'd like to check out the original 1989 radio series (with Douglas Adams and Mark), as the Beeb are re-airing seven episodes of that via the Internet. The link to the radio programmes is at: BBC - Last Chance to See - Radio - Original radio programmes |

| | | Re: Last chance to see I forgot to say, I also loved the description of a manatee, as quoted by Mark Carwardine:
"Not so much like a seal as like a travelling case for carrying a seal in."
