exactly - ive thought for a while that there ought to be a "red button" option to turn the comentary off but retain the basic soundtrack - cheaping twirtlying etc , shouldnt be too dificult as they must be on different recording layers.

this would also be invaulable for sports as we could lose the inane babling of the "experts" but retain the crowd noise and atmosphere.

I think you are making a big deal out of nothing tbh... Considering the show is live and mostly ad lib'd I think they generally do a great job!

Seems to me there is a bit of snobbery here, which considering this forum is for nature lovers, comes as a surprise to me!

I dont see any snobbery - i love the idea of springwatch as a programme making nature accesible to the masses - i just dont think that two people on a sofa inanely wittering, flirting , or arguing adds anything to the footage of wildlife.

yes the show is live and adlib , but they are alledgely profesionals and imo ought to subscribe to the theory that if they havent got anything interesting and informative to say , it might be better to say nowt.
