Maye we should have a thread for recipes like that, including people's results and reviews of the meal . | yer I boiled up some fresh tips early spring along with cleavers, both were good but can't remember I did them with, think I added them to a pasta sauce? Whats Dorset Dung Pie, or shouldn't I ask? |

I wonder if it's that pale eye that puts people off Herring Gulls in particular? It is a bit ominous.
The ones in Weston Super Mare are hilarious. They gather in a nice neat little group and stare intently at anyone eating chips. What cracks me up is that you can have dozens of birds all staring in the same direction like they're watching a TV! | Its probably because they do act a bit like hooligans, stealing ice cream from children, chips from teenagers, sandwiches from picnickers and they think rubbish could well be the best food ever so they live on rubbish dumps inland and they poo all over people's lovely shiney cars. (These are the main reasons that I want to come back as a seagull ha ha).
But I sort of respect them for their pluck and daring and their big flappy feet and pristine plumage and I LOVE their call which is just the essence of the coast for most people.
And yes their eye is a little ominous but also a reason why I quite like them! Plus our coasts may well be knee deep in chips in certain places if it wasn't for these guys! |

Also if they do bother people eating their fish & chips...or in my case once ..KFC in Weston...we are to blame for chucking them tit bits..but I still do it for my sins!
Same with pigeons in some places..the council used to feed them i Wimborne Square...then one night my mum & I were woken up and saw them shooting the lot of them...broke my heart..I was only young..that memory will never leave me!
The old wives tale of when the gulls fly inland there will be a storm happened to be true Saturday..we were driving up the A35 over Askers and there was a hellova cracker that night!!

I feed them too.... I love to throw a chip or bit of bread as high as I can and watch them zoom down and catch it. Such flying skills! |

So far I've clocked Vicar in a Tutu, This Charming Man, Still Ill, Sweet and Tender Hooligan, Oscillate Wildly, The Queen is Dead, Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before and Bigmouth Strikes Again.
All classics I must add.
I haven't watched them all, but there must be others I've missed.

Regards, Chris | I think you might be right I noticed the 'bigmouth strikes again' comment and thought it sounded a bit odd and I thought oscillate wildly was a bit of an odd description for wasps vibrating their wings to cool the nest - didn't recognise them as smiths songs (though I am the world's worst music fan and never remember names of tracks anyway) but thought they sounded odd... |

Regards, Chris | you missed out 'last night I dreamt that somebody loves me' which he dropped out when Kate joked about him having no mates because he collected wasp nests in his house. It does seem like a bet or dare of some kind

Matt | Ah yes Matt, thanks. I did notice that one, but forgot to add it to my list. Tonight he was throwing the Smiths songs about like confetti, but on previous ones I only heard one per episode. As a fan I quite like it, but am starting to find it a touch distracting as I look out for them.
