I didn't know but apparently he contracted the bug last year in Peru and was thought to have overcome the problem. However newspaper reports this week are reporting a reoccurence and he is going to have chemo to tackle the latest outbreak.

Ouch! Poor guy! Hope they knock it on the head this time (if you can believe the newspapers, that is. Which I rarely do).

That's what I thought too, especially since I've just finished reading an interview with him in SKY magazine about his new series, starting in April where he revisits some of the people that have featured on 'Country File' .

Typical of the reports is this one in the Telegraph I am afraid it is true but hopefully he will make a full recovery.

Oh dear it doesn't sound very good does it? I did not know about this back in October when it happened I don't know where I was then so this is the first I knew of it. I do hope they can get it under control it must be a dreadfully painful thing to have.
