| | | Yellowstone national park Stunning scenery, and a few interesting birds and other wildlife, i'm suprised no one has mentioned it yet. It's what the BBC do best, minus 40 makes me feel sorry for even the hungriest predators and what about those Humming birds and plenty of cute babies too

The programme has been superb and I have really enjoyed. i mentioned it in the Natures Great events thread. I thought the filming of Otters in the snow was breathtaking.

| | | Re: Yellowstone national park I've been talking about it on another forum, but there also, very few people seem to have watched it.
As Frank says....the type of programme that the Beeb does best....exactly what my OH and I said on Sunday. I too was fascinated by the otters in the snow, it was almost as if they were swimming!
As a geographer, the scenery is as important to me as the wildlife. Those incredible scree slopes where the bears were looking for moths. Of all the things that I could think they may have been looking for, moths were not on the list!!
The final ten minutes of the second programme about the geysers (geezers or guyzers?) made me think that I should be heading that way to become a geyser gazer....what a wonderful job! |

| | | Re: Yellowstone national park Stunning images on this program. We really are lucky to have the Beeb. I know it's easy to bash the BBC and they aren't perfect but they are producing some great nature TV at the moment.
What a tough life the animals of Yellowstone have. It shows how delicately balanced ecosystems can be. |

The Lake district is good but both the Highlands and the Western islands of Scotland are a match for anywhere in the world.

| | | Re: Yellowstone national park i do agree that the remoteness and isolation of scotland is breathtaking at times. i went to loch ness a while back and it was well ace round there. however, ive been to the lake district pure times and it sooo nice. i just love how its so quiet. id love to live there one day and its only down the road from me as well |
