John | His the most overrated player ever, apart from a couple of good years at utd his done nothing since.
The way commentators speak about him you would think his the best player to ever play
The fact fergie got rid of him speaks volumes & that his now playing in america (on loan to milan )
I don't mind him as a person but never rated him as a player

John | I agree David Beckham was/is a good footballer, I think hes a decent bloke to especially when you consider hes a bit dim and has a voice like Orville the duck. I even feel sad for him for been married to that pouting stick insect idiot of a wife.
Mind you he really should get his wardrobe sorted out a good pair of sensible shoes some cords and a decent shirt would improve him no end,,,,

There are a few million people around the world that agree with me plus most of the top clubs wanted him as a player. He certainly isn't the force he was but that is what getting older does for you.
I started this thread about a programme regarding a totally unremarkable and talentless person. With the best will in the world, even if you don't like him you have to admit he had a great talent.
I don't like opera very much but I have to acknowledge when somebody is good at it as I don't let my dislike of that form of music cloud my judgement.

Not aimed at any particular celeb, more a general comment. The thread is in its second page about not being interested in the people that are being discussed. |

| | | Re: Scraping the barrel in reality TV I think you have to separate Mr.Bs talent into football & married to someone who wants all the piblicity she can get to compensate for her lack of talent!
In this household all reality shows are switched over from!!
Super evening last Sunday..Candleford to Larkrise followed by Julie Walters in short stay in Switzerland, went to bed very thoughtful that night,no low life so called reality show can do that!Reality.....yeh right...they all know the cameras are running and they are getting paid for it!
My body blow of the year thought is Mr T Wogan not doing Eurovision & that............person doing it instead.Terry was the only reason I ever watched it,having lived in Sweden for many years where they take it VERY seriously,it was a joy to listen to when I returned to the UK!
ps.Orvilles voice is not real you know.............ask Cuddles!!!

| | | Re: Scraping the barrel in reality TV I too watched A short stay in Switzerland. I thought Julie was excellent and played the part really well. I think the story was handled brilliantly and was very moving indeed, without being over the top. I also thought the gentle humour that surfaced at times was done in a sensitive way.
It's a rare thing to get good quality drama like this....

It was shown between almost every programme - and one time I saw it shown twice in the same break, almost back to back! They do this with quite a few other programmes, and yet hardly advertise others, then I end up missing some really interesting things
