I missed the documentary but will watch out for a repeat. However, I did visit India last Spring and would encourage you to live your dream. The country is amazing and full of extremes, I was lucky enough to watch 13 different Tigers, wild Dohl, Leopards, Monkeys and some fantastic birds (including an amazing Pardise Flycatcher). The culture was fascinating, the people wonderful and the temples beautiful. I couldn't begin to explain the train system but the whole experience was incredible. Our Local guide, Harish was out of the same mould and his love and pride of his country and wildlife made our holiday.
On a sadder note if you want to see Tigers in the wild you had better be quick, I suspect the quoted numbers have been greatly exagerated and other than the Sudabahns they are barely hanging on.

| | | Re: Natural World: The Mountains of the Monsoon I recorded this and have just watched it and wow.......
a fantastic show full of animals I have never seen before, and I have watched soooo many nature documentaries.
I am left wondering why India has been relatively ignored for so long....
absolutely stunning and definately on my list of places to go.
I strongly recommend this to anyone who has not yet seen it |

| | | Re: Natural World: The Mountains of the Monsoon I've only just got round to watching this on iPlayer. Excellent. I've not really had any urges to visit India before, but seeing this part of it through the words and images of Sandesh Kadur has inspired me . |

| | | Re: Natural World: The Mountains of the Monsoon Same here, although I taped it. Wonderful, and atmospheric programme full of incredible photography and scenery and wildlife.
I agree about that Purple Frog. That was amazing. I also would have liked to have known what the cat was. I wonder if we will ever find out.
