| | | Merlin (The Wizard) Hi All,
As much as I enjoy the series of Merlin on BBC1, it really does grate to see how much of the original storyline has been changed for this series, sometimes to be even laughable.
How many continuiity errors have you spotted? I'll let you know when I have finished counting what I've seen.
Cheers,
Adam

| | | Re: Merlin (The Wizard) There have also been a number of other errors most notably in the first or second episode when the 'wench' came into the room carrying a food item and said here's your SANDWICH, thought sandwiches were 'invented' by the Earl of Sandwich in the 1700's, it's as bad as the hanging backets of Surfina Petunias which are sometimes hanging from the pub in Heartbeat, they wern't around then either

Ygraine was not originally Uther's wife as he had a bit of hanky panky with her in the guise of her real husband thanks to Merlin (so why is Merlin, and also Nimwe, younger than Arthur in the tv series), and thus Arthur was produced. Morgana, Arthur's half-sister was already about 10 when this happened. She turns into a nasty bit of work and gets knocked up by Arthur to produce his son Mordred who kills Arthur at the battle of Camlann, he in turn kills Mordred.
Cheers,
Adam

| | | Re: Merlin (The Wizard) Watched Merlin on Iplayer very briefly, since the thread went out and all I can really say is what a lot of chud!!! It goes out as children's drama, so...... A true picture at the TIMES would appeal more, not only to me but to Wabbers of all ages, those times contain cutting edge stories, new ages!!! But if that is what TV license payers want then "hey presto- chud" that's what you get! |

| | | Re: Merlin (The Wizard) I enjoy it, so what if it's not factually correct. They seem to use magic which to me suggests it’s not real, so I don't mind if there are sandwiches, spectacles and tomatoes, there’s a talking Dragon for goodness sake.
It good, clean, Saturday evening, family entertainment and that’s what it should be viewed as not a history lesson.
Sorry rant over

BWD | I agree, I like it though I often forget its on and miss it. Its certainly better than the BBC's recent Robin hood was I think. |

Cheers,
Adam | I wasn't getting quite so deep as that but perhaps this would be a good subject for a Trishia or Jeremy Kyle to sort out, perhaps an ancient version of the paternity test could be revealed not so much DNA as a good oldie dual
