We met the owners on arrival, which was Charlie and Phillipa! all I could do was talk to him about his filming, he said all the Halycon footage was shot on the river around his house, my workmates thankfully left me alone to chat while they did the work!
He is Kingfisher and Otter mad!
I`m with you its the best NH video I`ve ever seen.
Cheers
Brian | I remember a two part documentry with phillipa + family raising an otter cub and releasing it. They went the hole hog and built a large enclosure and pond for it too.
The episode is on Iplayer, ive downloaded it and will watch it soon |

But...i fear you are confusing more than one of the 4 films charlie/phillipa have made about rivers/wildlife...because unless she was suffering with severe bronchitis. | LOL & oops.
Although it does feature on a BBC compilation DVD "Great Wildlife Moments" which contains other gems such as the chimp hunt & the Lyre bird.

She's a fantastic presenter - of anything really but particualrly of wildlife shows. |

| | | Re: My Halcyon River (Natural World 25 years) I watched it on Sunday afternoon on 'catch up on demand' a cable TV service. We all sat down as a family and watched a double wammy, first the Gorrilla programme, then the river one and agree what a brilliant programme.
I don't know how they did it, at one point they film from below a Minnow and you see the Kingfisher coming down directly from above, gradually coming into focus to strike, truly amazing.
