grumble grumble! | A little harsh dontcha think. You forget that us newbies haven't been here long, so repeat threads are bound to crop up now and again. One sure way to put newbies off starting new threads!
My 2 cents worth. |

I think we should accept that the brilliant Bill Oddie is perhaps one of life's true eccentrics. He often says things that we would think but not say and his sense of humour does not suit everyone. I have just read his biography and his true character shines out from it.
Agree with all you said dan. Bill Oddie is a remarkable man! |

But he knows his stuff so what harm? | I agree, being a bit of a Bill fan myself. Yes he interrupts, clowns around and can be somewhat irascible, but he really knows his stuff and when he gets onto birds, his enthusiasm really comes through. I also like the fact that he's outspoken and is as likely to say something a little bit *naughty* as not. He's definitely not bland. |

| | | Re: Bill Oddie - Don't ya love him? For what it's worth I am left wing and I like Bill Oddie. And I don't think it has anything to do with 'spoonfeeding', either - as far as I'm concerned Simon King does far more of that, and Bill's faster conversation is a relief. Sometimes it's interesting, sometimes it's not, but at least it's not usually slow and repetitive. |

grumble grumble! | Yep I'm with venger and deer boy with this one, if you don't like him watch something else or have a go at being a presenter yourself Many young people watch his silly antics and in this way at least stay to watch to the end of the programme and learn something in the process. The man is enthusiastic and interesting and I like his quirky surlitude on occasion I LIKE BILL............ phew, there I said it
