New series Victorian Farm starts some time soonish and I for one can't wait! If any of you watched or remember Tales From The Green Valley it's the same people but this time they lived and worked on a farm for a year using victorian farming methods, should be good I reckon.

First episode is on tomorrow night on BBC 2 @ 9pm.

"New documentary series following historian Ruth Goodman and archaeologists Alex Langlands and Peter Ginn as they sample the life of a Victorian farmer for a year. Wearing period clothes and using only materials that would have been available in 1885, they move into a smallholding on the Acton Scott estate in Shropshire, and begin their first task of restoring the cottage"

I caught a program the other night and the shear amount of hard work and lack of luxuries scared me.

No, I'll stick to watching this in the comfort of my armchair

Watching this program shows just how much we take for granted, being able to buy sawn timber, toiletries, WC, ST's, catch a bus or jump in the car, very little food wasted and that coal range! the whole dependancy on good weather to plant seed for harvesting
