Good old Hugh is back tomorrow night (16th) with a new series "River Cottage Autumn" on C4 @8! Mega!!!!!!!!  Following the success of River Cottage Spring, Hugh returns with his new series on Thursday 16th October at 8pm on Channel 4. We find out what has happened to the smallerholders on their urban waste land turned allotment in Bristol. We are also harvesting Autumn's bounty, here at HQ, such as beetroot, kale and of course, pumpkins.
Just to add I'm pretty sure that mushrooms will figure at some point!! (Well I hope so!)

Heads up that Hugh will be on our screens tonight at 8pm on C4!!!!!!!!!
On a side note we were in the River Cottage canteen/shop in Axminster a little while back and bought some lovely cheese and some cracking smoked streaky bacon which I put in the freezer, we used that for our "pigs in blankets" on Sunday to go with the roast chook and it was marvelous, best bacon I have ever had and that is saying something!!!! Would of been nice just in a bacon sarnie Julie!!
Anyone else been to the RC canteen? we were gonna have a spot of luch but it was pretty busy and I had a stonking hangover!  |

Let's hope we find plenty of suitable edibles for the pot

Are you staying down there (obviously not at the HQ but in the general area) or just going for the day?

Cool, where is the B&B? I love it down that way, Lyme Regis and all that, if you have never been to Beer then I would suggest a visit, it's a lovely little fishing village. |

Not stayed at that B&B myself but I know someone who has and it was very nice apparently.
If we get some nice weather I'm gonna twist the girlfriends arm to get down that way for a weekend. |

I have some friends who stayed over and had the meal at his restaurant last year. They had a wonderful time and said the food was superb.

They looked very nice too, I've got a mincer which has a sausage stuffer attachment in the back of one of the cupboards somewhere, got it from Lidls for about £20 but have only ever used it once in about 2 years! 
I will dig it out and have another go, at least you know what is in them when you make you own.

Well Kayleigh, just ordered the natural casings (Hogs) and sausage mix from said website above, went for the award winning breadcrumb sausage mix!!!
Get amongst it, you can get a whole kit with everything you need (apart from the meat) for around £60!
