There was an interesting piece on Countryfile on Sunday about the military airbase at Llanbedr in North Wales. This airbase, within the boundaries of the Snowdonia National Park, closed in 2004 and since then all plans for it to become airfield for light aircraft have been blocked by campaigners, with the independent group The Snowdonia Society threatening legal action should the redevelopment go ahead.
