Someone with a name like Billy Wobble Dagger shouldn't really talk about nakedness

| | | Re: Springwatch Norfolk It was my wish earlier on in this thread too, i have done a lot of uni related work on Wildcats this year and have some great new Wildcat related friends and contacts one of which it turns out our paths had crossed previously. Im passionate about these animals now and their plight and i am so happy the BBC have picked up on the cause and recent media interest with this amazing result!

| | | Re: Springwatch Norfolk the Wildcat footage was some of the best i've seen. it made my day!
it's been part of my plans for a while now to make some initial trips to try to zero in on a Wildcat sign and eventually spot one, yesterdays footage was very encouraging.
such a beautiful animal, they're the only reason I'd be against lynx being re-introduced to Scotland - i'm assuming the would eventually have a negative impact on them.
i was getting a bit bored of SW, (the Odd one should realise he's not the star of the show) but its improved this year so far!
hey Dan, do you have any good links to Wildcat info other than the normal googled stuff?
cheers |

| Yep, visit the Springwatch website via the BBC and there is a tab named episodes. Here you can catch up on all the previous episodes. When I last logged on the previous episode was also in the main box on the homepage and all set up ready to be watched in full. |

Excellent show tonight, even bill seems more sensible so far. | Wildcat indeed, what excellent footage and what a priveledge to have a glimpse into the life of one of the WORLDS most elusive creatures
Not only that but the the footage of the behaviour of the treecreeper fledglings was also amazing. What next i wonder?

| | | Re: Springwatch Norfolk Just finished watching both episodes courtesy of BBC I Player and very enjoyable they were - poss even more so cos I know both places well - but content is varied - keep it up beeb
Now that Wildcat.............!! The first footage of something walking in the wood left to right - is - a Badger - sorry guys - but watch it a few times and you can clearly see a humped grey back and tail and when it gets a bit further right a stripey head can be seen......... OK! Nothing wrong with that!
And yes the Wildcat footage is stupendous - but despite Simon pointing out all the ID bits that make it mostly Wildcat - there is no disputing theres a bit of domestic moggy in its pedigree - he missed the most important bit - its got GREEN eyes and for 100% Wildcat it should have AMBER to yellow-ish eyes Still what is a domestic moggy anyway only a Wildcat a few hundred (couple of thousand??) years down the line?!
It would be very funny tho if the neighbours down the road from this croft were saying to each other 'hey isn't that our Thomas on the tv?!!!!'
Pauline
Oh and PS I think Bill's summer plumaged sanderling was a Temmink's Stint - something we have at Pennington at the min............
