Mind you, with this cold, windy and rainy Autumnwatch weather, will we see much?
Certainly a naked, dancing Kate will be a non-starter .... Dan will be SO disappointed . BBC - Springwatch - Home

It was a film called Spymaker and was a biopic about the early life of Ian Flemming when he worked in naval intelligence.

The only thing I didn't like is the bit where Simon King of all people is going to try to put a camera inside a crested tits next box..
Personally I would be happy for them to be left alone. If the tits abandon the nest because they disturbed them just to get some pics then that is just wrong. I thought better of Simon King |

Just hope they get a result eh!....
and in reply to Kayleigh. I hear ya, (although its in a natural nest not a nest box) he was very cautious about it all, the protected nature of cresteds, the chance of disturbance, waiting until the chicks are older and he said it may well not happen. I dont think they would take any risk of a protected species live in tv so if it happens be sure they have taken every precaution.

| | | Re: ***** Springwatch ***** It's good to have Springwatch back, but I hope this year they include more invert stuff. I mean when you're in Norfolk, it'd be nice to send a crew down to the fens to see those Norfolk Hawkers and Swallowtails. A few reps would be nice too.

But from the sound of things they have the UKs expert on them so they will know hat there doing and he did say there put a camera in the nest IF they can. |

| | | Re: Springwatch Norfolk The experts don't always get everything right though, they put 17 boxes up for the Crested Tits yet only one was being used and that was by a Blue Tit, even in our own gardens we get better results than that albiet with different birds

I hope there is more coverage. If only they could put a camera in a Water Vole burrow so we could see thier young, now that would be good viewing.

Great to see springwatch on again and close to where I live too! We have our own springwatch going on here! We have baby Rabbits hopping about, nests all over the place, a pheasant who visits several times during the day for a feed, a pair of ducks, some partridges and a never-ending stream of several different species of birds including a pair of yellow hammers, oh and theres the mice that live in the shed! |
