re: Johny Kingdom

Never mind the sky program/repeat....the NEW SERIES started tonight on BBC2 woop woop!

Im quite shocked at myself at just how happy i am to have the crazy old fool back in my life for a short while!...his camera work is as amatuer, out of focus, shaky and poor as ever...he is crazy as ever, and his "friends" get odder by the minute!..oh you just gotta love him.

And his new "project" on his very own land/woodland looks like it will be good...loving that new lake/pond already.

Long live the Kingdom.

He likes his land doesn't he? And so he should do, can't wait to see what the pond looks like once it's established.

The tree moving/replanting (destroying) had countryside managers cringing in their boots too !..i dont hold much hope for it...but who knows..if the roots all being snapped didnt kill it im pretty sure i saw the main trunk snap when they dopped it the second time?...still...He would be better planting a young silver birch there as they grow so fast anyway!...either way the pond looked great i cant wait ( personally i wouldhave liked to see some of the edges/banks a lot more gradually sloped)

He is great though...and JUST HOW FUNNY does tonights episode look with his heath robinson floating hide collapsing on him mid lake? lol

we replanted large silver birch a few times at work with a digger but we were a little more careful but there who knows it may make it

I have to say, I winced as I watched this tree 'performance' as well. I'm a bit ambivalent about J.K, but I have to say, last night's installment was very good and I'm looking forward to tonight's (maybe I've been won over after all)
In recent years there has been some major 'Dibnahisation' (I wonder, with persistence if I could get that in the O.E.D?) of the B.B.C and I have to say I quite like it! Though Christine, from 'Christine's Garden', does my head in.

Regards, Chris

Is she/he the garden expert on the 1 show?

Missed JK last night, so i'm about to try the BBC Iplayer for the first time. Guess I can miss quite a lot out, fast forward the tree replanting, fast forward the pond bank profile.

********note to self, watch programme before reading WAB threads on said programme*********

JK is so full of enthusiasm it's infectious. And his love of wildlife transmits to the viewer. Hopefully the tree in the island will make it or maybe it will re-grow from lower down, it's early enough in the year. And as for the Badgers, well those cubs
